Membership Covenant
Having received Christ as my Lord and Savior and been baptized, and being in agreement with the understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by the Lutheran church, and Eden's vision and mission, I now feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with the Eden church family. In doing so, I commit myself to Jesus Christ and to the other members of Eden to do the following:
To Live Among God's Faithful People
- By acting in love toward other members
- By praying for my pastor and other members
- By sharing in the responsibilities of church membership
To Hear His Word and Share in His Supper
- By being faithful in worship attendance
- By regularly reading the Bible
- By encouraging children to be brought to Worship and Sunday School
To Proclaim the Good News of God in Christ Through Word and Deed
- By inviting the unchurched to attend Worship
- By warmly welcoming those who visit
- By praying for the growth of God's Kingdom, and Eden Church
To Serve All People, Following the Example of Our Lord, Jesus
- By discovering my spiritual gifts and talents
- By developing them and being equipped by my pastor to serve Christ and my church through my gifts
- By developing a servant's heart, enabled by the Holy Spirit
To Strive for Justice and Peace in All the Earth
- By personally striving to live a life that is faithful to Jesus' teachings
- By being a witness to Christ's inclusive love in my community and society
- By giving regularly
